Rainbow Mermaids Scratch Out 2-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and the MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes, pitcher Ryutaro Yamamoto was the difference between victory and defeat. The MSL Northern Virginia right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Rainbow Mermaids win. MSL Northern Virginia, at 17-14, sits in 4th place in the SL MSL.
Sean Tapia drove in one run for MSL Northern Virginia. The 17-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off José de Jesús Ramos. It was his 19th RBI of the season.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Tapia.
