MSL Echo Park Beats MSL Ft. Worth, 6-4
|
The MSL Echo Park Lakers topped the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 6-4, in USSL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Echo Park Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of MSL Echo Park pitcher Michael Temple. Temple, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Gilberto Flores, his 3rd this season.
The Lakers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fifth. With one out, Yoshimatsu Abe hit a solo home run off José García, putting MSL Echo Park in front, 3-1. For Abe, it was his 1st home run of the season.
"Good win for us," said Abe. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
The Lakers move to 7-10 with the win, while the Cattlemen drop to 7-10.
