Cattlemen Rally For 4-1 Win
|
Ray Harrison pitched a gem to lead Ft. Worth to victory over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-1. Pat Martin got credit for the save for Ft. Worth. It was his 21st of the year. Ft. Worth raised its record to 32-31 with the win.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Leland Sigurdson came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Northern Virginia pitcher Richello Dosono, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ft. Worth on top, 2-1.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Harrison told the Ft. Worth Chronicle.
