Loss to Rainbow Mermaids Extends MSL Nova Scotia Losing Streak
|
MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids starter Gilberto Espinoza pitched a strong game against the MSL Nova Scotia Leviathan at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark, leading the Rainbow Mermaids to victory, 6-3. Espinoza, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 2 walks. Lucas Lancaster collected his 1st save.
Ed Ward, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2051 draft, aided the MSL Northern Virginia cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Espinoza.
The last-place Leviathan have lost 10 consecutive games.
