Dirty Reds Dealt 3-2 Loss by MSL Athletic Club KC
|
The MSL Athletic Club KC U-18 topped the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds, 3-2, in USPL Mexican Summer League action at MSL ACKC Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to MSL Athletic Club KC pitcher and Delgado, El Salvador, native Armando Valentín. Valentín got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Valentín allowed 2 runs. Cisco Cervantes closed it out for his 3rd save.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Ángelo Soto went deep for the U-18. With MSL Athletic Club KC trailing 2-1, he drilled a solo home run.
"We had a good game plan," Valentín said, "and we were able to execute it."
MSL Athletic Club KC is now 23-25, while MSL San Mateo is 17-31.
