Voodoo Get 3-2 Win Versus MSL Colorado
|
Good production from shortstop Ricardo Álvarez helped the MSL New Orleans Voodoo topple the MSL Colorado Billy Goats, 3-2. Álvarez went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Voodoo. Jesús Durán, the winner, improved to 10-2. He held the Billy Goats to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. MSL New Orleans raised its record to 25-17 with the win.
Álvarez contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for MSL New Orleans in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Álvarez took a fastball from Logan Wrighton and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Voodoo to leap in front, 3-2.
After the game, MSL New Orleans manager Wallace Elgie applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
