Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Shredders
|
The Shredders faced a stiff challenge from MSL Mississippi pitcher Jose Sánchez, but persevered to claim a win at MSL Mississippi Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Sánchez went 7 innings and allowed no runs. MSL Hollywood reliever Claudio Robles was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Toshiki Hara took the loss for MSL Mississippi. The Shredders now own a record of 21-21.
MSL Hollywood used a clutch hit from Eduardo Torres to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shredders ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Torres.
