Martínez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Mockingbirds
|
MSL New Orleans got a big-time effort from pitcher Jesús Durán, but it wasn't enough to keep the MSL Mississippi Mockingbirds from winning the game, 4-2. Durán threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. MSL Mississippi reliever Jack Thomas was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Dae-hwan Park took the loss for MSL New Orleans. With the win over MSL New Orleans, the Mockingbirds improved to 15-20.
Alfredo Martínez was the walk-off hero for MSL Mississippi. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mockingbirds pinch hitter hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"What a buzz," said Martínez after it was over.
