Baseball fans saw a good contest between the MSL Hollywood Shredders and MSL Greenville 84s.
The MSL Hollywood Shredders had to overcome a fine effort from MSL Greenville pitcher Lothar Rehling to grab a narrow 5-3 win at MSL Greenville Ballpark. Rehling went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs. The 8th-place Shredders are 8-12.
MSL Hollywood used the timely hitting of Darren van Enk to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shredders on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We did enough to win," said van Enk.
