Billy Goats Edge Past Dirty Reds, 5-4
|
Getting a good performance from catcher Mart Vroom, the MSL Colorado Billy Goats defeated the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds, 5-4. Vroom went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Billy Goats. The loss puts MSL San Mateo at 4-3.
Vroom had a timely hit for MSL Colorado in the bottom of the eighth. With MSL San Mateo trailing 4-2, he turned a 3-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 5-4, MSL Colorado.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Vroom said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
