Dirty Reds Sneak Past Voodoo, 8-7
The MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds overcame a good performance by MSL New Orleans second baseman Iván Garza to knock off MSL New Orleans, 8-7, at MSL New Orleans Ballpark. Garza was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Brent van Wijk recorded the save for MSL San Mateo, his 2nd of the season. MSL San Mateo goes to 2-1 with the win.

MSL San Mateo needed the clutch hitting of Juan Sánchez to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 8-5. For the game, Sánchez had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
