Kingfishers Down Billy Goats, 3-2
|
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers topped the MSL Colorado Billy Goats, 3-2, in USPL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to MSL Pittsburgh pitcher and Trinity, Texas, native William Hood. Thatcher Howard notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. The victory makes MSL Pittsburgh 1-1.
Cristóbal Castillo drove in one run for MSL Pittsburgh. The 17-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Mitsunari Nakagawa. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"Every loss stings," said MSL Colorado manager Mike Norman. "This one is no exception."
