Rocketeers Shut Out Cattlemen, 3-0
|
Seattle Rocketeers starter Virgil Dickerson was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 3-0. Dickerson, now 5-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Seattle has now won 3 in a row.
The Rocketeers got an important contribution from first baseman Alexander Karshev, who in the top of the fifth knocked a 2-2 fastball into center for a run-scoring double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Rocketeers ahead, 2-0.
Dickerson told a Seattle Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
