Beavers Handled by Moose Jaw, 6-1
|
Juan Castro never let Northwest Territory get something going. The Moose Jaw right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Canucks to a 6-1 win. Castro, now 6-4, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Moose Jaw's record now stands at 31-38, placing them 8th in the Menard's Low A.
Aaron Nelson tagged a home run off Steve Smith in the bottom of the first. His 3-run blast put the Canucks on top, 3-0. In all, Nelson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Canucks manager Dan Fletcher, "I like our chances."
