Gutiérrez Silences Ogallala Bats
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Tijuana Toros and the Ogallala Octopi, pitcher António Gutiérrez was the difference between victory and defeat. The Tijuana left-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Toros win. Tijuana, now 25-34, holds down 11th place in the Menard's Low A.
Gutiérrez's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 5 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 2 hits. Gutiérrez, who is tied for 6th in the 3A- with a 7 quality starts, goes to 5-3 on the year with 59 strikeouts.
"António did a tremendous job," said Tijuana manager Chet Delaney.
