Octopi Walk It Off for 25th Win of Season
|
Ellesmere Island wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Júlio Moya, falling to the Ogallala Octopi, 5-2. Moya threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. After today's action, Ogallala sits at 25-25, while Ellesmere Island falls to 28-22.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Ogallala trailing 2-1, Steve Patterson jumped on a 2-2 slider from Tom Anderson for a grand slam home run, sending the Octopi to a walk-off win.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Ogallala manager Félix Cruz.
