The Ogallala Octopi had to overcome a fine performance from Flint pitcher Steve Sanford to grab a 3-2 win at Flint Park. Sanford allowed 3 runs over 7 innings. The winner was Rubén Montalvo in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Steve Sanford took the loss. Jake Hammond recorded the save for Ogallala, his 2nd of the season.
Graham Trudgeon hit a 2-run triple off Steve Sanford in the top of the third, which put the Octopi in front, 2-0. Trudgeon had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
