Late Rally by Leviathan Locks Up 4-0 Win

Nova Scotia Leviathan starter Tomás Ramírez was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-0. Nova Scotia reliever Bing-zhong Qiu picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Sean Murphy was saddled with the loss. After today's action, Nova Scotia sits at 17-30; Northern Virginia slips to 17-30.
Had Gareth Kvernoey not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Kvernoey hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Leviathan.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Ramírez.
