Piranhas Deal Hurricanes 5-1 Defeat
|
The Panama City Piranhas topped the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 5-1, in United States Silver League action at Factory of Sadness. The game was highlighted by the performance of Panama City pitcher Dan Dunn. Jeffery Meyers earned the save, his 1st, for the Piranhas. The triumph puts Panama City at 30-16 for the season.
Panama City used the timely hitting of Anthony Hollis to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Piranhas on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Dunn said.
