Otters Lose Late, 6-2
|
The Tulsa Otters got a superb performance from pitcher Gilberto Espinoza. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Surprise. The Shockers won the game, 6-2. Espinoza threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The 4th-place Shockers lifted their record to 48-41.
Surprise needed the clutch hitting of Justin Johnston to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shockers on top, 4-2. For the game, Johnston had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Johnston told the Surprise Chronicle.
