Uruguayans Earn 9-8 Win Versus Otters
|
In a high-scoring game between Germantown and Tulsa, designated hitter Pedro Sánchez was a difference-maker. The 20-year-old helped Germantown grab the 9-8 win. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Javier Rosa, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Uruguayans saw their win-loss record go to 36-50. At the same time, the Otters fell to 34-52.
The Uruguayans got a big hit from center fielder Alonso Sánchez. In the bottom of the eighth, Sánchez smacked a 2-run double off Tulsa pitcher Marcus Weaver. It was his 10th double of the season. Suddenly, the Uruguayans were ahead, 9-8.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Sánchez told the Germantown Daily.
