Leviathan Beat Cattlemen, 3-2
|
The Nova Scotia Leviathan racked up a win at The Cattle Pen, bumping off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 3-2. Joshua Dobson, who started for Nova Scotia, pitched effectively for his team. Nicolaas Eland closed the game out for Nova Scotia, earning his 7th save. The 9th-place Leviathan are 15-26.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Gareth Kvernoey? The Nova Scotia first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Leviathan on top, 1-0. For the game, Kvernoey had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
After the game, Nova Scotia manager Tyler Studebaker applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
