Octopi Need Extra Frames to Get Past Canucks
|
The Ogallala Octopi topped the Moose Jaw Canucks, 8-3, in M3L Low A action at Foresters Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ogallala pitcher António Piña. Piña got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 hit and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. Piña allowed no runs. Moose Jaw drops to 4-5.
Ogallala needed the clutch hitting of Min-bum Chong to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Octopi on top, 7-3. For the game, Chong had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Chong told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
