Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Music
|
Surprise got a big-time effort from pitcher Artie Parker, but it wasn't enough to keep the Memphis Music from winning the game, 4-3. Parker threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The win belongs to Jaime Montoya in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Lou Anderson took the loss for Surprise. The Music boast a remarkable 45-11 record.
Joey de Vaal electrified the crowd in the bottom of the 14th when he took Surprise pitcher Lou Anderson deep. His solo home run sent the Music home winners.
"It was a test of wills," said Tom Christensen, the Memphis skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
