Lakers Fall Short, 2-1, at Northern Virginia
|
In a low-scoring contest, Northern Virginia pitcher Mike Bergquist was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. At 14-24, the Rainbow Mermaids claim 8th place in the Silver League.
Northern Virginia grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Hughie Chesire delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Rainbow Mermaids.
"We put together a nice win," Chesire said.
