Memphis used a superb performance from starting pitcher José Souza to down the Bompton Baby Lakers, 8-0. The Silver Low A-leading Music are 38-9.
It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Souza, who tallied 7 strikeouts in 8 innings and allowed only 1 hit. Souza, who is tied for 8th in the SA- with a 5 quality starts, raised his record to 6-2 on the year with 49 strikeouts.
"José just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Memphis manager Tom Christensen.
