Warheads Beat Uruguayans, 4-0
|
Amarillo picked up a win at Ballpark of Henderson, bumping off the Germantown Uruguayans, 4-0. Pitcher Nolan Macarandang was a major reason the Warheads emerged victorious. Macarandang, the winner, moves to 1-3. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Amarillo, with the win, sits at 12-23.
Domingo Segura, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Felipe González for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put Amarillo in front, 3-0.
"It's a mindset," said Macarandang. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
