Beavers Fall to Uruguayans, 8-5
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Germantown Uruguayans take on the Ballard Beavers.
Germantown picked up a win at Ballpark of Albuquerque, bumping off the Ballard Beavers, 8-5. Pitcher Stephen Harris was a major reason the Uruguayans emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Harris, now 1-4. He tossed 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. Victor Doubleday locked down his 2nd save.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Uruguayans grabbed the lead on a two-out home run by José Cháves. Germantown at the time was trailing 2-1, but Cháves's 3-run home run off Sae-wan Chong put his team in front.
"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Cháves, "but we could've played better."
Germantown now sits in 6th place in the Silver Low A at 16-15.
