Shockers Sink Uruguayans, 5-1
|
Starting pitcher Al Leonard was a major factor in the 5-1 Surprise Shockers triumph over the Germantown Uruguayans. Their 16-13 record puts the Shockers 4th in the Silver Low A.
The win was a team effort for Surprise. Catcher Ron Stitt was among the key contributors. In the bottom of the second, he put his team in front, 2-0, when he hit a 2-run single.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Surprise manager John Walls. "Our pregame was pretty good."
