Harbor Whales Knock Off Warheads, 3-2
|
Amarillo got a terrific performance from pitcher Akihito Miura, but it wasn't enough to beat the Greenport Harbor Whales. Greenport won the Ballpark of Robbins contest, 3-2. Miura threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The current losing streak for Amarillo has reached 4 games.
The Harbor Whales grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Quentin Zacagnini, who is tied for 6th in the SA- in triples with 1, hit a 2-run home run off Akihito Miura, putting Greenport in front, 3-2. For Zacagnini, it was his 3rd home run of the season.
"I like what I saw today," said Greenport manager Tony Romero, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
