The Surprise Shockers and Ballard Beavers played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
In a tight affair between the Surprise Shockers and the Ballard Beavers, pitcher Nick Middleton was in the zone. The Surprise right-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. Middleton, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
Surprise took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Julián Adame stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Shockers.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Surprise skipper John Walls. "I can't complain."
