Shockers Lose Late, 6-3
|
Baby Lakers center fielder Will Moon put his stamp on his team's 6-3 win over the Surprise Shockers. Moon went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Bompton in the contest. Reliever Ken Leuthold picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Xander van Dusschoten took the loss. Jonathan Alexander picked up the save for Bompton, his 5th of the year.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Shu-yen Fu came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Surprise pitcher Xander van Dusschoten, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bompton on top, 4-3.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Fu told the Bompton Bulletin.
Bompton currently is in 6th place in the Silver Low A at 11-12.
