The Memphis Music racked up a win at Ballpark of Hughesville, bumping off the Tulsa Otters, 3-2. Gus Morris, who started for Memphis, pitched effectively for his team. Morris picked up the win for Memphis, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Greg Hawkins picked up the save, his 2nd.
Memphis used the timely hitting of Hughie Dook to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Music ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Tulsa manager Ben Cooper, "let me know."
The win gives Memphis a season record of 19-3.
