Skidding Harbor Whales Lose 16th Straight
|
The Surprise Shockers eked out a 2-1 win versus the Greenport Harbor Whales at Ballpark of Robbins. Nobody did more than pitcher Horst Snel. He was terrific. The losing streak for Greenport has now reached 16 games.
Surprise used the timely hitting of José Randín to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shockers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Greenport manager Tony Romero.
