6 Straight Wins for Piranhas
|
The Panama City Piranhas took Las Vegas pitcher Buzzy Grossman's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Strip. The final score had Panama City getting past the Flamingos, 4-2. Grossman went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 7. The first-place Piranhas have won 6 consecutive games.
Panama City used a timely hit from Abel Risinger to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Piranhas ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Risinger said in reaction to the win.
