The performance of Joe Madden proved critical in helping Bompton beat Amarillo, 7-6. The Baby Lakers right fielder went 3-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jonathan Alexander, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. The win takes Bompton to 5-8.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Bompton trailing 6-4, Jimmy Dreux hit a knuckle curve from António Gómez for a 3-run home run, giving the Baby Lakers the walk-off win.

Madden described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
