Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Puffer Fish
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish beat the Quebec City Baby Blues, 10-8, at Dylan Park. Plattsburgh center fielder Jesús Vega had an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Plattsburgh has a 4-game win streak, while Quebec City has lost 3 in a row.
Plattsburgh relied on the hitting of Mutsuhito Kiyomizu to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Puffer Fish on top, 9-8. For the game, Kiyomizu had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Puffer Fish manager Wallace James. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
