Centennial Win Again, Streak Now at 14
|
The Fort Knox Centennial defeated the Shady Side Zoomies, 6-4, at Ballpark of Baxter today. Leading the charge for Fort Knox was right fielder Víctor Sánchez. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Brent Aspden. He's now 5-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits for the Centennial. Juan Carrillo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
Fort Knox grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Sánchez, who is rated as the 5th best prospect by BNN, hit a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Centennial out in front, 4-3.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Sánchez told the Fort Knox Observer.
Fort Knox leads the Premier Low A by 19 games.
