Cajuns Deal Baby Blues 5-2 Loss
|
The Crowley Cajuns took Quebec City pitcher Morgan Evison's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dylan Park. The final score had Crowley getting past the Baby Blues, 5-2. Evison went 8.2 innings and allowed 5 runs, striking out 8. Reliever Edgardo Fernández picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Morgan Evison took the loss. John Pierce got the save, his 1st in 2 chances.
Crowley used a well-timed hit by Kevin Jones to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Cajuns ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
In postgame comments, Jones told the Crowley Daily News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
The win gives Crowley a season record of 47-44.
