Warheads Win Thriller, 7-6
Amarillo beat Surprise at Ballpark of Henderson, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Wayne Schmidt. He was 2-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Amarillo pitcher Luis Guevara got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Héctor Salas got the loss. Amarillo has a record of 3-2.

The Warheads were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman Manuel Licalde turned a 2-0 sinker from Héctor Salas into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double electrified the Ballpark of Henderson denizens and sent the Warheads home with a thrilling 7-6 win.

"This place was electric at the end," Schmidt said.
