Crossbeaus Rally For 9-2 Win
|
The Beaumont Crossbeaus got a good effort from starter Reynaldo López in defeating the Quebec City Baby Blues at Dylan Park. The final score was 9-2. Kidlat Zayco notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 1-3. At 34-52, the Crossbeaus claim 9th place in the Premier Low A.
Beaumont used the timely hitting of José Sosa to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crossbeaus on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I know we have our doubters," said Quebec City manager Troy Grant. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
