Centennial Rally For 4-2 Win
|
The Athletic Club KC U-21 got a superb performance from pitcher Arturo Villarreal. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Fort Knox. The Centennial won the game, 4-2. Villarreal threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Fort Knox pitcher Aaron Ellicott got the win. He's now 1-0. Aurélio Brazo was tagged with the loss. Ramón Flores recorded the save for Fort Knox, his 2nd of the season.
Fort Knox used a timely hit from Greg Collins to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
After the game, Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The first-place Centennial have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
