Cajuns Pull Off Thrilling 5-4 Win in Extras
|
The Crowley Cajuns had to overcome a big game from Redwood first baseman Juan Sáenz to leave The Zoo with a victory. And they did, winning 5-4. Sáenz went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The 4th-place Cajuns have won 4 straight games.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Iván Garza came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Redwood pitcher Juan Galván, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Crowley on top, 5-4.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Crowley manager Neal Davis.
