Cattlemen Cut Down Rainbow Mermaids, 1-0
|
Ft. Worth got a strong outing from Ray Harrison as the Cattlemen defeated the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 1-0, at The Cattle Pen. Jong-yong Ha got credit for the save for Ft. Worth. It was his 2nd of the year. The Cattlemen move to 18-12 with the win, while the Rainbow Mermaids drop to 11-19.
The Cattlemen got a big boost from left fielder Leland Sigurdson who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third inning off Rainbow Mermaids hurler Mike Bergquist. It was his 7th RBI of the season and put Ft. Worth on top, 1-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Northern Virginia skipper David Lister, "and it cost us."
