Hound Pound was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

Hicksville wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Bob Porter, losing to Redwood, 2-1, at Hound Pound. Redwood reliever Leonardo Flores picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Mike Bell shouldered the loss.

Redwood needed the clutch hitting of Brett Taylor to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rhinos on top, 2-1. For the game, Taylor had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Tough loss," said Hicksville manager Phil Carroll. "But we'll learn from it."

The win gives the Rhinos a record of 11-55.
