Vega Stars for Puffer Fish in 9-6 Win
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Jesús Vega, the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish defeated the Shady Side Zoomies, 9-6. Vega went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Puffer Fish. Plattsburgh reliever Don House got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Bill Bray was tagged with the loss. The 8th-place Puffer Fish improved to 27-37.

Vega contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Plattsburgh in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 6-5, Vega took a slider from Bill Bray and stroked the double to right-center. His 11th double of the season allowed the Puffer Fish to leap in front, 7-6.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Vega said.
