Mabty Throttles Crowley, 7-4

The Beaumont Crossbeaus picked up a win at The Target, knocking off the Crowley Cajuns, 7-4. On the mound for Beaumont was right-hander Conor Mabty, who played a pivotal role in the win. Rusty Collins was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 5 save opportunities. Beaumont is now 23-38, while Crowley is 33-28.
The standout performance belonged to 18-year-old Mabty. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Crossbeaus. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Cajuns, striking out 11 and scattering 4 hits over 7 innings. Mabty is now 6-3 on the season.
"I had a good game plan," said Mabty. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Stephen Richards said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
