Flanderses Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
The Hudsonville Flanderses electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.
Starting pitcher Francisco Suárez took care of business, helping the Hudsonville Flanderses stifle the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 3-2. Kel Ellis snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 3-1 on the season.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Ted Swanson, who is tied for 5th in the PA- in triples with 3, hit a solo home run. The Flanderses went on to win.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Suárez.
The third-place Flanderses have won 8 in a row.
