Shady Side Zoomies starter Mark Ramsdell was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Hicksville Hounds, 6-3. The Zoomies, at 34-23, sit in third place in the Premier Low A.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Zoomies sent 21-year-old third baseman Javier Ortega to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Shady Side on top, 4-3.
"Mark just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Shady Side manager John Aston.
