The Redwood Rhinos picked up a win at Hound Pound, taking down the Hicksville Hounds, 6-4. Starting pitcher Curt Whitley was a big reason why. Yes, it was a win for Redwood; but their 7-44 record is still nothing to boast about.

Redwood used a well-timed hit by Justin Armstrong to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I liked his command," said Redwood manager Dave Parrish. "Curt was throwing strikes."
